Artist's Bio: Ellie Fidler

Ellie works from your favorite photographs of people or pets (dogs and cats, bunnies, goats, birds, horses, whatever). Or, Joyful Dog Designs will meet with you and photograph your pet. Ellie paints the portrait with colorful brush strokes or in her own pop art, silkscreen style and adds her own original background designs of damask, oriental, paisley, and floral.

Ellie Fidler has been creating art and designing fabric for over 20 years. She has created large scale hand-woven tapestries for the California State Government and major world-wide corporations, including Hyatt Hotel, T.V. Guide Headquarters, and Intel. She has shown her art nationally and internationally.

Combining her love of design and her love of dogs, Ellie creates Joyful Dog Designs with her husband, photographer Gerry Traucht.

Ellie has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Textiles from California College of the Arts, and has studied at York University in Toronto, and California School of Professional Fabric Design in Berkeley.

Ellie lives with Photographer Gerry Traucht, Gorden Setter Shania, and English Pointer Camille.
