Organizing unlocks future opportunity
Becoming a Professional Organizer has been a natural evolution for me.
When I started my business 14 years ago I worked as a Certified Professional Résumé Writer. I would tell each new client that having a résumé prepared was akin to cleaning out a closet. The process clarifies your history, needs and wants and results in a tool that unlocks the door to future opportunity. Home and office organizing is similar, both literally and figuratively. (I continue to write résumés when I am not organizing.)
As a Professional Organizer I make house calls with residential and business clients, guiding them through the steps to take control of their living/working spaces, time and lives. My work calls into play my formal organizing training as well as skills and interests I have developed over the decades, making it a great profession for a middle-aged woman. The rewards are exciting to me when I see clients make positive and lasting changes as we create systems to help them achieve their goals.
I run the business with Douglas Condie, my husband/business partner, from our loft in a Rockridge District church in Oakland where we are the sextons (people who live on the church property.) This unique space is a 90-year-old, Julia Morgan-designed chapel now converted into living quarters. My outside interests include quilt making as an art form and painting.
