I have been doing financial planning for the past three years with Waddell and Reed. I chose this profession after working twenty years in management with the retail drug industry. I realized over the years the importance of personal savings and what it could do for myself and my family.

I observed my grandmother living off social security and barely making ends meet from month to month. My former job did not have a pension and I knew social security would not be nearly enough for me to live the lifestyle I envision. I am very passionate about helping others achieve financial freedom and view myself to be much more than an investor but also an educator. I am one of the many baby boomers of my generation that is seeking to live as fully as I can for the rest of my life.

I have been married to my wife Mary for nearly 25 years with two children ages 21 and 18. The years have passed quickly and now my wife and I are in a position to help our children fund their education without compromising our retirement years. I relate well with others attempting to juggle the many changing priorities that life presents us. I have come to realize that it is just as important to set up a strategy for the distribution of our assets as it is to accumulate them. We may very well live much longer than we anticipate which creates the fear of outliving our income.

I view my profession to be a very important one, but the greatest thing about it is I am having fun and it provides me tremendous gratification to help others.

I am passionate about my work however my greatest passion is playing golf. I have played since I was 12 years old and always look forward to my next round. In my spare time I cannot think of anything I enjoy more. I enjoy many other sports as well. I am also a member of the Tri-Valley Rotary club and an active member of the chamber of commerce. I enjoy vacationing with my family and creating exciting memories that will always be with me.
